Professional Work Experience
Manager- Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting in IFAD (International Fund for Agriculture Development) assisted Uttarakhand Livelihoods Improvement Project for the Himalayas (ULIPH), at Project Management Unit (Head Office), Dehradun (project being implemented under aegis of Dept. of Rural Development, Uttarakhand) from June 2010 to March 2012. As Manager- Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting, my core responsibility was to efficiently manage the Monitoring and Evaluation Systems of the project and generate quality reports for efficient decision making.
Worked as Manager- Technical Services in IFAD (International Fund for Agriculture Development) assisted Uttarakhand Livelihoods Improvement Project for the Himalayas (ULIPH), at Project Management Unit (Head Office), Dehradun (project being implemented under aegis of Dept. of Rural Development, Uttarakhand) from Nov. 2009 to June 2010. As Manager- Technical Services my core responsibility was to efficiently manage the technical aspects of the project in the sectors of Agriculture, Horticulture, Soil and Water Resources, Livestock, Forestry, Ecotourism and Rural Non Farm.
Worked as District Project Manager in IFAD (International Fund for Agriculture Development) assisted Uttarakhand Livelihoods Improvement Project for the Himalayas (ULIPH), in District Management Unit, Bageshwar (project being implemented under aegis of Dept. of Rural Development, Uttarakhand) from Nov. 2004 to Oct 2009. As District Project Manager my core responsibility was to efficiently manage the planning, resource mobilization, implementation monitoring and reporting of project success involving project stakeholders.
Project Coordinator iof Indo German Social Service Society (IGSSS) funded ‘Micro Watershed Development Project’ from October 2003 to March 2004. Piloted a micro watershed project in Nainital district with activities of institutional strengthening, watershed protection through forestry and engineering measures, livelihood promotion and marketing tieups development through Mother Dairy Network.
Sixteen months working experience (June 2002 to September 2003) as Environmental Specialist in World Bank funded ‘Uttaranchal Rural Drinking Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation (SWAJAL) Project’, at District Project Management Unit (DPMU), Almora. Coordinated (project formulation, implementation and documentation) Catchment Area Protection Works (CAPW) and Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) programmes in 30 villages of Almora district.
Four years working experience (Oct. 1998 to May 2002) as Team Leader in World Bank funded SWAJAL and CAPW (SWAJAL) Project . Implemented Uttaranchal Rural Drinking Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation (SWAJAL) Project in 6 villages and Catchment Area Protection Works (CAPW) and Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) programmes in 16 villages of Nainital District.
Two years working experience (Oct. 2000 to Sept. 2002) as Project In-charge of the UNDP funded “Bio-diversity Conservation Project”. Developed a Nature Science Centre at Bhimtal, Nainital with in-situ and ex-situ biodiversity conservation models at Sattal and Bhimtal respectively.
CCPI in the World Bank funded National Agro Technology Project in 2000-2003. Conducted two main explorations for collection of medicinal and aromatic germ-plasm from Himalayan region in collaboration with National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), ICAR, New Delhi.
Six months working experience (Aug. 1995 to Feb. 1996) as Programme Coordinator of People’s Resource Centre in ERA (Experiments in Rural Advancement), an NGO at Pithoragarh.
Four year experience (Feb. 1991 to March 1995) in Central Himalayan Rural Action Group (CHIRAG), a pioneer NGO of Uttarakhand as Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) in Forestry. Have done field and research work in Community Forestry and Watershed development Programs. Besides, organized grassroots training (on nursery development, plantations, conservation and management of forests and plantations ), nursery development ( of > 500 village nurseries) and afforestation (of > 5 million seedlings).

As Senior Level Consultant in ADB assisted IDIPT Project prepared Inception Report, Initial Environment Examination Report, Resettlement Plan Proposal, Sub-Project Appraisal Report for proposed projects etc.
As Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant of Uttarakhand CAMPA since July 2012, conducted concurrent monitoring and evaluation of CAMPA assisted works in six Forest Divisions (Nainital Civil-Soyam, Almora, Almora Civil-Soyam, Bageshwar, Champawat and Pithoragarh) of Uttarakhand in 2012 & 2013.
Organised and participated in various studies and assessments related to Annual Joint Review Missions, Annual Outcome Survey of ULIPH interventions, Result and Impact Management Systems, Food Security, Zoning exercise for village selection under ULIPH, Assessment of impact of project interventions etc.
Conducted Monitoring of Grassroots Development Organizations and evaluated their work related to Participatory Micro-watershed Development in SRTT funded ‘Himmothan’ Project in Kumaon region through CHIRAG. Worked as a consultant for SRTT to evaluate works related to Forestry and Institutional development aspects for last five years (2006-2010).

Conducted an Action Research Project on “Revival of Traditional Black Ink used in Uttaranchal” being funded by the office of the Development Commissioner at Srinagar (Garhwal) in Oct.-Nov. 1996.
Visited MYRADA and SAMUHA organizations (Karnataka) in August 1994. Spent a week there to get practical exposure of their programmes on Watershed Management and Rural Credit Systems.
Attended a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) training in February 1993, conduced by Action Aid Consultants. Thereafter conducted several PRAs.
Visited HELVETAS, a Swiss Organisation at Bumthang, Central Bhutan, in May-1992 and participated a two-week training workshop for acquiring the practical exposure on Temperate Grass and Forestry Programmes.
Have special experience in planning and designing of rural development projects, documentation of project impact, field experiences and information, networking and coordination activities, evaluation and monitoring of projects, organizing training and exposure tours etc.

Senior Consultant in ADB funded Infrastructure Development Investment Program for Tourism at Design and Supervision Consultants- WAPCOS (International Consultants in Water Resources, Power and Infrastructure Development under aegis of Ministry of Water Resources) at their Regional office Bhimtal (Nainital) responsible for projects of Eastern Kumaon Circuit since May 2013. As Senior Consultant, my core responsibility is to efficiently manage the community development, forestry conservation, project management and reporting systems of the project.
