DISHA is a Consultancy and Training wing of HIMANI Society and aims at conducting innovative studies, action oriented research and grass root trainings, related to sustainable development of human and natural resources of Himalayan Area.

DISHA is managed by a group of development professionals from various discipline and wide grassroots experience. The mission is to upgrade the skills and knowledge of voluntary organizations, community based organizations and community, and at the same time conduct action oriented research, innovative studies and documentation in development sector. The ultimate vision is to improve the quality of life of human beings and maintain Man Nature bond through the improved and systematized efforts of the Government and Non- Governmental Organizations.

Hours of visiting

DISHA performs following four broad functions

Innovative Studies and Documentation on various aspects of development depending upon the needs expressed by organizations, like impact assessment of project, training need assessment, project evaluation etc

Training and skill Development on various facet of development for NGO’s professional, members of community based organization, Government officials.

Technical Support to grass root organization on formulating project proposal, project progress report, annual report, brochure and other documents of the organizations, besides technical information on various field of development.

Knowledge management in various facet of environment and development by managing knowledge bank and its dissemination to various stakeholders.

DISHA offers following services to facilitate the work of service organizations.

Community Project need Assessment by analyzing the existing condition of the area/community and suggests innovative projects/ programmes as per the need of the area/community and capacity of the organization.

Project programme micro planning through Logical Framework Approach (LFA) using techniques of Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA0 and detailed village level planning to develop quality proposal to meet the basic needs of the area and requirement of the funding agencies.

Project / programmes Management by providing technical support to the organization to manage its resources and implement the programmes /project activities effectively as per approved project proposal and agreement with the funding agency.

Project/ Progrmmes Monitoring and Evaluation by monitoring the project/ programmes on behalf of the funding/nodal agency Judge the effectiveness of the initiatives and suggest corrective measures and further course of action.

Capacity building by organizing issue and need based training programmes on various issues of development and management to enhance the capacities and skills of originations and village level institutions

Documentation on various facets of development as per the need of organization project and help the organizations to develop important documents. Like Progress report, Annual report, Brochure, Case Studies etc. besides maintaining and updating data bank on resource agencies/ persons, development programmes etc.

Advocacy and Liasoning with public and or private national or international resources agencies through networking, organizing seminars, consulting etc.
